Indonesia has successfully completed the assembly of its third Nagapasa-class submarine. On-time completion validates the state-owned shipbuilder’s recently built submarine building facilities in Surabaya (photo :gear trex) ★Assembly of the third Nagapasa-class diesel-electric submarine (SSK) on order for the Indonesian Navy (Tentara Nasional Indonesia – Angkatan Laut: TNI-AL) is complete and the boat is ready for launch at Surabaya, an official from state-owned shipbuilder PT PAL confirmed with Jane’s at the Indo Defence 2018 exhibition in Jakarta.
However, the launch has since been delayed twice due to the unavailability of key politicians who would like to be present at the ceremony, including the Indonesian president and the minister of defence, said the official.
